WHY SPAY OR NEUTER?
HOW SERIOUS IS THE PROBLEM OF UNWANTED PETS?
It is estimated that as many as 10 million cats and dogs are put to death each year in shelters alone. If this was due to a disease, more effort would be put forth to find a cure. The cause, too many animals, and the cure, spaying and neutering are known, yet animals die every day.
According to experts in the field of animal science, one female dog with a litter of five males and five females can create 67,710 offspring in 6 years. A female cat can produce 420,000 more felines in 7 years. Obviously, good homes cannot be found for this tremendous surplus, and humane societies are overcrowded with unwanted animals. Our society has accepted killing them as a solution.
